Another Pinterest Win!

So I just had my father in law and his wife leave. The meal was a big hit. I took pictures of the prep... but forgot to take pictures when it was done... it looked beautiful... and tasted even better. I will post the prep pics tomorrow.

Slow Cooker Moose Roast

1 roast
1 onion coarsely chopped
3/4 cup red wine
2-4 slices of bacon
6 drops of liquid smoke
3 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 bulb of garlic (I used roasted garlic)
3/4 cup of water
2 celery stalks, cut in half

Put everything in the pot, drape the bacon over the moose and cook on low for 8 hours. Then take out the roast and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before cutting in so you don't lose all that juice. I strained what was left in the pot and used the liquid for gravy (added GF thickener) and cooked up some carrots, turnip and potatoes. It was amazing, my husband just took the left over gravy, moose, and veggies and is eating it as a soup...

As for the Pie... I got a little lazy and used my gluten free crust, a can of pumpkin puree, an egg and 1/3 cup evaporated milk and ta-da... pumpkin pie!

Not sure what I'm going to make tomorrow... stay tuned!
